Balance shafts making the noise I'm hearing?
Hi, I have a '95 5sfe Camry and I hear what sounds like a muffled "loose bearing" kind of noise coming from the engine. I had removed the serp. belts, and the noise was still there. I just replaced the timing belt and all related parts with that (waterpump, idlers, etc.). This made no change in the noise I'm hearing. Like I said, the best way to describe it is like a muffled "loose bearing" kind of sound coming from the engine, seems loudest when standing at the front center of the engine when looking from above. I'm thinking it may be from the balance shafts. Has anyone has any experience w/ noises coming from the balance shafts? If so, how did it sound and long did they last if they failed?
