FIPG all the way. . .
While your waiting for parts, I'd drain the oil and yank the battery <<Fail safe, engine no start<<.
After its done dripping for week, yank the pan. Get every trace of of the old FIPG off both parts. Clean it with acetone, and reapply some name brand FIPG.
Its the best material for the job if applied correctly.
Also, you might want to wipe up in the sump area to reduce the amount of fresh oil running down and making contact with the new FIPG so it can cure without having oil present.
