The valve or the grommet?

In my experience, I broke the valve, but it came off. The grommet was hard to take out. I broke the grommet in pieces. I got the small chunks but the big one went down into the valve cover. I spent 45min using my finger and a needlenose to pull it out. -__-

I dont know if you have a I4 or V6, but in the other post you said hinted that your valve cover may need replacing. It might be easier to take out the PCV valve and grommet while the valve cover isnt attached to your car.

The grommet fell into the valve cover? I used my pinky to bring it up and then used needle nose pliers to take it out.

i think it would be easiest if you were to remove the valve cover and then take out the pcv.. also replacing valve cover gasket and checking for sludge build up.. just to be safe.. you know 17 yr old car....

I Am a little confused on putting the new wires on the new distbutor cap. On the 4cyl 2200 motor there are 4 vale holes for the spark plugs how are they numbered 1,2,3,4 cylinder left to right or are they 4,2,3,1left to right. the Dist cap is numbered but just ned to know how the spark plug valve holes are numbered?? Thanks for all your help and patience.

You mean on the cap itself right? Well you could do them one at a time or mark the originals with white-out so you can duplicate it (always good to work slow and mark everything), but the cap is going to be numbered clockwise. It probably just has a number 1 and you go clockwise with the rest.
