3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
what mileage are you getting? any hesitation problems? uneven idle? vibrations? mushy brake pedal? any leaks? any noises?
you can start with minor tune up (NGK spark plugs, NGK wireset, air filter, WIX/Denso fuel filter) if Haven't already ?
how are your brakes doing ? changing pads (and rotors at 155k) for something strong and flushing brake system is always a good idea.
also i think your tires look worn and under-inflated.

Nice clean example. I had one of those small black GPS discs on my dash too! I made it out of a DVD case because I was too cheap to buy one . I actually ripped it off yesterday because I bought a friction mount instead.
Looking forward to seeing the mods you're going to do to this car

In that case the rear swaybar or anti-sway bar is a very nice handling mod helps with body roll in the rear. The front strut tower brace is another cheap handling mod. It gives you more oversteer as opposed to the stock setup with slightly more understeer.
I'm going to be taking it to a mechanic so he can check it over FULLY and tell me if i should have anything done, if anything.
I'll be doing the oil change myself, What should I use for oil? Whats the best?
its the 2200 motor 4cyl
BTW: I'm not going to be lowering the car. Just too much money and work for myself to handle.
asking for oil may cause turbulence on forums
anyways, i stick usually to either of full synthetics with oem/denso/pureone filter or castrol/valvoline dino (with same good filters). i heard that cheap walmart's supertech oil is a good dino too.
following 4-5k oci on full synthetic oil sounds ok if your engine is clean (if not than cut oci in half).
running good dino (again with decent filter) like castrol gtx or valvoline dino is fine for up to 3k miles (with clean engine, if not then cut oci in half).
wix (also known as napa gold) filters are very good too, as well as mobil1
stay away from cheap autozone filters like any kind of fram or stp and you will be fine. best places to get a decent diy oil change deals are advance auto parts and pep boys, while autozone only sometimes (when they use bosch or mobil1 filters haha). buying oils on promos with filters makes it real cheap and easy (and safe for environment because you return waste oil to them).

For starters, I'd begin with a set of the Depo Clear Headlight/Corner/Signal lamp lights. You can find them on eBay for $192, or for regular price at depoautolights.com. They look very nice on the Camry, especially at night. It's a nice upgrade from the stock lights, IMO. Also, a dash kit would enhance the appearance of the interior. Do a Google search to find some good prices.
Remember, your Gen 3.5 (95-96 Camry) is slightly different from the Gen 3 Camry (92-94) so be careful on your purchases! I myself am currently looking at a 96 LE, 82K mi. with mint leather interior. It's a beautiful car, just like yours!
