3rd Generation 5sfe intake help

So I've decided to clean my weapon r secret intake and I finally decided to try and figure out what that extra gray hose connects to. Me and some friends spent about an hour trying to figure out what it connected to but failed. A few days ago I found a pic of a 5sfe with the same intake with the hose connected...i don't remember where i found the post

Does anyone know what it connects to?? I hope I'm not fucking up my engine :/

I just looked at the valve cover hose, which is also connected to some part of the manifold. So do i leave the opening on the manifold open when i connect the hose to the valve?

one side connects to the intake hose (weapon r intake pipe) and the other goes to the valve cover, like big bird said. there are 2 hoses that do this. one connects to where you are missing it and the other is a real tiny 1 that goes from the valve cover to the throttle. there should be nothing going to the manifold from the valve cover

plug the hole in the manifold, that would be called a vacuum leak

Isn't there a small hose connected to stock intake tube near the throttle body? The connection for that hose on the stock intake tube faces the firewall. You connect that hose to what you're pointing to.

That's what I did to with my CAI...

It's custom. I got it from another TN member a long time ago. It sounds great, but I have lost a bit of torque on the bottom end. Works really good at highway speed though. Unfortunately, I have to reinstall the stock system for smog checks.
