Question 97 / 2.2L Rand. Misfire at idle

Camry has 202k, once RPM's reside below 1000RPM engine will start stumbling and compensating for the random misfire under-load and in neutral.

Since that time... Wires have been changed 30k ago. plugs, fuel filter, and coil of frequent #1 misfire have been replaced. Fuel has been treated for the last three tanks of fuel. Vacuum has been checked at a healthy 20Lbs only dipping 1Lb. when random misfire occurs.

I'm about to give up

first CLEAN TB and IAC.....

check spark plugs / gaps

double check vacuum hoses

also may not be beneficial but check and clean (maybe replace) battery and battery cables...

you have code reader?

you have I4 or v6?

not the best way but using caution, i would disconnect coil or wire / injector NOT at the same time WITH engine running..

if theres NO change in idle when you disconnect one component named above then that may be a faulty component

but if there is a change then move on to next coil / injector because that component is most likely functioning properly

The misfire happens less often than not, so I'm not sure unplugging a cylinder will identify the issue. But I'll be cleaning out the IAC, and the TB. I recently cleaned out the TB but did not do the IAC.

Something weird, before I started having this issue the throttle was getting stuck closed to where I had to stomp the gas pedal to release it.
