All things equal, which and why. 1994 XLE V6 or a 1997 XLE I4. Both have ~195k and are in great, well maintained shape. I know I couldnt go wrong with either, just wondering why I should choose one over the other.
Thanks
On Board Diagnostics 2. Easier to read codes stored in computer(s) if you have the right equipment. As far as choice, matter of taste. If V-6 does not have the sludge issue, I'd go with that one. I think the I-4 has balance shafts. Besides, V-6 sounds better and will be more fun than the I4

You can probably tell by now I'm not a mechanic but what are the sludge issues and balance shafts?

id get the 94. the 1mz is one of the best motors touoya ever made. mine is at 182K and it supercharged. many people have them and put little inot repairs WELL into the 200Ks. the I4 is a dissapointment in terms of power, though still a good motor it lacks the power that the camry needs.
not to mention...the gen3 camry looks better then the gen4.
