Arrow Disable Auto-Lock?

Hey guys, When I get in the Camry, it immediately locks all the doors. Its a pain especially when I have more people getting in and out after I start up.

How do I disable this so it doesn't automatically lock them?

I also have a key-less entry/ auto-starter that came with the car its says "Valet Model:ezsdei474p", the key-less entry works fine, but the auto-start does not work at all, any thoughts on that?

either let them into car before you turn ignition ON, or start it first and then unlock manually all locks under your left hand side, they won't lock again (until you cycle ignition again).

I am unsure if this feature is easy to be disabled permanently, it's for your security anyways

Keep yer door open when you start it...it won't lock the doors.

You can also reprogram yer security unit to not lock the doors either...

In that case you need to find the manual for the alarm system and disable the auto lock that way.

The auto lock has nothing to do with the alarm system. It has to do with the car itself...

i think you still have your factory/dealer alarm active. it would explain WHAT is locking the doors.

1995 camry is supposed to have an alarm system named TVSS. not sure if anybody knows a link for the user guide or manual of that.

actually all camry 1990-1995 may have this alarm installed at dealer, former models until '99 inclusive (and solara '00) had VIP RS3000.
http://www.scribd.com/doc/9766159/TSEL01007

the only TVSS manual I found is this:
http://rav4faq.kerkerinck.de/allgeme...pt_Belgium.pdf

not sure if this is the correct version (drawing of ignition key doesn't match), but it says this - might be worth trying:

Quote:
5) Step in the vehicle and make sure that all doors are closed completely
6) Insert the key into the ignition key cylinder.
7) Wait for more than 5 seconds.
8) After turning the key to the ACC position, turn the key from the ACC to the
ON position 5 times within 10 seconds (Last position : ON).
➨ Status Monitor LED will illuminate for 30 seconds.
Note : In case you implement 6 times or more by mistake,
action steps 6)-8) you made will be canceled.
Please retry from step 6).
9) While the LED is illuminated :
• Open and close the driver’s door 2 times.
• Turn the key to the ACC position.
➨ LED will continue illuminating.
➨ Indicator lights will flash 2 times.

Ignition controlled door lock ON :
10) While the LED is illuminated:
• Open and close the driver’s door 1 time.
• Turn the key ACC-ON-ACC 1 time (Last position : ACC).
➨ Indicator lights will flash 1 time.
➨ LED will extinguish.

Ignition controlled door lock OFF :
10) While the LED is illuminated :
• Open and close the driver’s door 2 times.
• Turn the key ACC-ON-ACC 1 time (Last position : ACC).
➨ Indicator lights will flash 2 times.
➨ LED will extinguish.
do you have any sort of toyota alarm LED somewhere ?

I checked the car over real well, I don't see a LED or any type of alarm light anywhere in the car at all.

When its bright out tomorrow, i will give another peek I guess but I doubt I will find anything.

you can try following instructions i posted ignoring LED, just observe indicator lights. if you have original alarm still in there it might be the one.
