Cigarette Lighter

Is it difficult to "change out" a defective cigarette lighter socket? I don't want it for the lighter, but not having it is no good when it comes to charging things or running something that has a cigarette lighter socket. Apologies if this is covered somewhere, couldn't find it. Thanks.

Nope, not hard, its pretty easy actually. Pretty self explanitory take it apart then you know how to put it back together. Video tape it if you're not sure.

Assuming you have a 92-96 camry here.

Take a flat head screw driver, stick in under the trim that contains the cig lighter and pry it out. Then remove the wire that connects to the cig lighter. The entire trim piece will have to be replaced. I'd try cleaning it up first if it's rusty though.
