3rd Generation MotorCraft FL910-S Filter!

Just got back from Walmart & picked up some MotorCraft FL-910-S oil filters for my 1993 Camry LE 3VZFE V6! This looks like one great filter for the money! I highly recommend it, with the Silicone anti-drain back valve!!! $4.17 at my WallyWorld!......I use these in my 2007 F-150 5.4 3v & these filters rock!.....

How about the Motorcraft FL400S? They shortened it a bit now. So it's closer to 910 but should still give you more filtration area.

I'd think the 5.4L takes the larger filter, maybe even the FL1A?

And Motorcraft synthetic blend motor oil? At $2.77/qt it's a great value.

+1 on FL400S

used it last winter with 5k full synthetic OCI. it was (not sure about new model) about twice the size of Pureone or OEM filters. it gave me the peace of mind for longer OCI

i'm not convinced synthetic blends are any good though hehe ... i always like to go with the weakest link in chain and since they have both dino and synthetic in it, so I would have strong doubts about it, just my personal non-mechanical opinion (you can ignore it hehe). price sounds good though!

I agree with that. Some blends have only about 25% or even less synthetic oils. However, for those oil seals requiring "petroleum" to stay swelled, synthetic blends have an advantage.

And some hotter running engines use only true synthetics (Group IV or V synthetics, not the Group III faking as "fully synthetic"). You'll find them as European formulas on the market. Primarily Mobil-1 0W-40, and less common is Castrol European Formula 0W-30.

Hey, maybe that's why most US synthetics won't cause leaks, because they're not truly synthetics like those European oils.

I run the BIG ones after pulling valve covers and knocking crap loose. Then go back to stock size. . .

The point being, it takes less time to fill it and O/P comes up quicker so everything is getting lube! Just don't run cheap Big filter w/a cr@ppy anti-blead back valve or the lights gonna linger. . . . Might just keep them from hitting the 350,000 mile marker!

I guess if you used your camry as Farm Vehicle or run on dusty roads all the time it might make sense. But we are talking daily drivers not race cars that need extra capacity and cooling. But, hey, if you filter is full a metal every time you change it, by all means run the big filter! lol
