Level: easy
I couldn't find any installation information of a trunk release kit so I just post it at 00:20 am which means that some information may be skipped!!!
what you need;
1 relay (some people say that it doesn't need if you alarm system supports "ground when armed" but mine doesn't work without a relay even though mine supports that)
1 long wire ( the trunk release kit has all the wires but the wire from the trunk to the relay is short)
1 wire tie( it makes easy)
1. fuse
precedure
1. This is a diagram that I installed and I didn't install a switch because I didn't need that.
a

1. hook the wires to the solenoid. It doesn't matter which is positive and negative and assemble it.
2. connects the wires to the relay. the relay information is below.. sorry the picture is really crappy
85: to 12v constant
87: to 12v constant
86: to trunk release output from your alarm system
87a: no connection
30: to + wire of the solenoid
connect 85and 87 with 1 fuse and connect it to a 12(+) volt source. I connected it to the battery directly thru a firewall.
you should know the mechanism of the latch but if you don't want to spend time, follow me.
the trunk release kit has a big problem that doesn't pull enough wire so you can't install wire the top notch.
it took 2 hrs to find the best location to install. put a wire tie under the spring and notch. the picture shows that wire tie is over the spring but it's wrong.
Use a wire tie . it makes really easy. install the solenoid like the pictues. I didn't want to use drill or have holes so I used wire ties to hold the solenoid. don't forget the ground wire.

Now press the option buttion on your alarm system for 3s and test it.
