well friend, you've pretty much listed ALL your options in your first post. the one you forgot was to get another car. if ya want more power its turbo or swap (3sgte swap too).
custom making a cold air intake helps with throttle response which helps on the highway alot lol an helps with performance as well the short ram air intake helps with throttle resonse but i think it hurt my performance and deff my gas mileage since the cai its gone up dramatically i live in florida an the heat is unbearable enough as it is think about under the hoood you ould replace your spark plugs and wires routine shit will get the factory performance back then you can go from there
I think that realistically with $15k and a year, given you do planning, assembly, and tuning yourself, and have the knowledge and experience to do those things efficiently, you could get about 550 reliable horse power out of it. I'm still not sure what you would do for a tranny to handle 500+hp, and it would suck to drive on the street, I'm not even going to think about the torque steer and traction issues, but we all know that doesn't have a good probability of happening. As for keeping it a street car and a daily driver, well just give up. It's not meant to be a fast car, so you really either have to go all the way with it, or live with it.
