Oil in PCV valve?
I changed my PCV Valve yesterday and I noticed the presence of oil inside it. Is this normal?

Some light amount of oil is normal. Just don't want to see varnish/sludge.

sludgy oil is what I saw so I replaced it. it was 60,000+ miles since it was last changed (if ever) thanks John

it's normal cuz that's why its supposed to be replaced

as long as it's not chosed with sludge cuz that could get u higher than desirable crank case pressure

oh ok. why is high crankcase pressure bad?

Biggest problem is that it forces oil past the rings & valve seals, which causes oil burning. It'll cause more leakage out the valve cover gasket.
