USA Replace third brake bulb

I got 92 Camry which works great, 120k mil. I am trying to replace a burned out brake light bulb, the third one. But I can't open the cover, tried to use hooks from both side at same time, tried to lift up and tried to pull back. None of these tricks worked, I am afraid to use too much force that breaks the cover. Any help is appreciated.

hmm i did it once like 2 years ago, but i don't remember it well... i think you have to squeeze the sides of 3rd brake light cover and lift it up at same time or something. took me a while to figure it out too.
then it will be straight forward (you will see the burned out bulb).

good luck!

Thank you very much, I will give it a try. That's the only thing I did not do, squeeze to center then lift.

When I had to replace that bulb in my 94, I found the best way to do it was to crawl in the trunk and loosen the tabs that hold the assembly in place from underneath. I too was fearful of breaking it, so I did it this way. 30 seconds and it was loose. After changing out the bulb I put it back in from up top.

Firmly squeeze the sides and pull it up toward your chin!
