What should I pay for this heap?

http://raleigh.craigslist.org/pts/1739751528.html

I just want a few body parts since the paint matches. The rest will be parted out.

KBB says $1,150 but it also needs a new cadillac () converter, struts, tires, radio, battery, and the ignition wires have all been cut. Also the sunroof doesn't work. Hasn't been driven since August.

Well, it depends. I buy salvage cars for a living. If the engine turns and the oil doesn't look like a chocolate milkshake, then it's worth in the $700-800 range. If there is MAJOR mechanical damage then $300-400 is about right. Call your local u-pull it salvage yard and ask what they would pay for it. That will give you a good idea of the least of mount of money it will sell for. There are good body parts there if you need them, but if the mechanical is what you are looking for, then it looks like it's mostly there to be a good parts car.
