3rd Generation Please Help-Problems with 1995 Camry

We have a 1995 Toyota Camry, automatic, four cylinder, that we just bought and found out it has a major issue.

The controls on my console that control my heating and A/C, don't get any power. Took it to a mechanic (recommended and supposedly reputable) who diagnosed the problem as a blower motor issue. Before I had him fix it, I found another mechanic who was willing to replace the blower motor for less (friend of a friend). Well he tried doing that tonight and after he put the new blower motor in, it didn't fix the problem! He checked all of the fuses and they are all good. He spent hours looking it over and wasn't able to figure out what was wrong.

As I said, the heat and A/C won't even turn on...the lights don't come on or anything. The wiring diagrams shown in the repair manual didn't help matters either. While not having A/C is annoying, we can live without it...but this is WI and in less than 6 months, we won't be able to live without the car having heat!

I didn't and still don't want to have to take the car to a Toyota dealership to diagnose the problem if I can help it...does anyone have an suggestions as to what the problem might be and/or how much it usually costs to have a 1995 Camry hooked up to a diagnostic computer to see if the wiring is bad? Any help would be appreciated.

Need to know more info.

Does your car have rotary knobs or push button controls?

Think you're just saying the blower motor doesn't work.

It has rotary knobs. The mechanic at the first shop I took it to is the one who diagnosed it as a blower motor problem, but when I had it installed at another shop, the controls still weren't getting any power and/or air. I was a little iffy of the diagnosis to begin with, but figured that they were professionals and would know better than I would.

So this is where we are right now....the blower motor has been replaced with a brand new one and the fuses checked but still the heat/AC won't turn on. The controls don't even get any power.
