3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I'm not sure if this topic was covered or not before, but if I get an AEM CAI for my 99 camry, is that all i need, or do i need to pick up the bypass valve as well?

having a bypass valve depends on your driving conditions, most people dont feel the need to have them, i believe someone has had messed up his engine because of water getting into the CAI.
Unless you have alot of rain and drive through 2' puddles, it couldnt hurt having one i guess.
It doesnt rain much here in LA so im not going to have one yet. maybe later, but its not a priority.
the aem cai has been "coming soon" since october and according to the local aftermarket car parts place i go to they said it should be released in april since thats when manufacturers release all their new products.
its gonna be about 250 for the aem , but dont knock injen , i have the injen intake and i believe its one of the top intake manufacturers out there i know people with civics and othere cars hat want my intake
