Check the connections in the trunk to the antenna. If it was fine before you swapped the antenna then that could explain things.

Along with Lynch's suggestion, check the grounding and the shielding for the wires. Sounds like some interference from the signal wires and the power to the antenna, see if they are against your antenna cord-- just separate them some how.

^ Same as if you had your cell phone near the HU and or the speakers and when you get a call, it interferes with the sound from the radio.--Simple fix would be to move the cell phone away.

Guy, Search here about looking for adapters for the 6x9s. I'm sure you can find them on ebay. Make sure the speakers you get fit.

yes! i had the antenna cable tie warped to the elec. cable. stations are much better but still have that static click from the signal light would rather not have it but can live with it.i guess i did that because it looked neater.
the click may have always been there i dont usually use am was trying to get a local ball game.
thank you much!!

Good job!

If you want, you could find some shielding to cover either the signal wires or the antenna cable (either or) so you isolate the wire. The netz says that you could also accomplish this by wrapping the wire with the grounding wire so I guess get enough wire to extend the ground wire to your needs.
