3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
So, i am the proud owner of Monroe Quickstruts, and before i purchased them, i came to realize, no one else has reviewed them.
So, to be honest. this was my first major repair on my car, And it was not easy for me.
The ride quality of these are phenomonal. From going from the original 256k struts, to these? i grip the road better, i drive on a lot of mountain roads, and the v6 is a lot more fun now.
It's very stiff, i've put about 1000 miles on them so far, and they are overall very stiff. Which can be good, but at the same time frusturating.
So, my opinion? for a good cost, whole repair on suspension. Go ahead. Get them, im getting new tires and an alignment this weekend
THEN THE MONEY PIT WILL BE DONE.

Amazon has them on sale right now for USD 150 fronts and about USD 140 rears + FREE SHIPPING (you can not beat that!!). Just watch the price on Amazon carefully as it fluctuates quite often, maybe on a daily basis.
Plus monroe/TENNECO (the holding company) almost always runs a summer rebate from May 1 every year till end of summer for 20% OFF.
That brings the Quick struts in the USD 500 range if you DIY.
If you want to go through the hassle of REALLY do-it-yourself then for USD 500 you can get top of the line (and more reliable) KYBs setup. But you gotta deal with the SUICIDE STICKS aka Strut Spring Compressors

It's good to hear you like the ride. The only reason I stay away from their SensaTracs is because they used a grooved piston rod design instead of multiple valves to help shape the damping curve. Once the position of the piston gets past the grooves, the damping behavior can change quickly from what I heard.
Monroe is said to be phasing out the SensaTracs in favor of the new Reflex (for years, I might add). I wonder if Reflex is actually in your QuickStruts while they still advertise SensaTracs.

At 256k miles, your old struts where just ornamental metal between the wheels and the frame If you had taken the springs off of the old struts, you would have probably discovered struts with near zero dampening power I have put monroes (since last November) on TRD lowering springs (since march) and I'm not too sure how I feel about them after the lowering. They are good struts, but only time will tell if they will outlast my replacement Gabriels, which lasted only 40 k miles. But at least you like 'em
