3rd Generation 94 Camry Wagon Transmission

I am looking to get more info for my brothers car. Its a 94 Camry Wagon with a 2.2L4cyl with an auto trans. He was driving it today and it seemed like the trans just died. Fluid level is good. It rolls in PARK and in drive it sounds like gears in the differential are stripped. I didnt realize these had diffs on them but has anyone experienced this? Can i swap gears out since to me it seems like the trans is fine but diff is toast. 223,000 miles btw

Sure, you can buy one of the 3 sizes of differentials for the A140E. But it may be cheaper to get a salvage yard transmission?

To get parts, I'd recommend your local Transtar Industries warehouse:

Yea that will get us to help you much faster.

I don't think you should start trying to repair the existing unit, you don't know what else could be wrong with it, stripped gears could be just the beginning. Do a complete swap.

+1

How can someone come to a forum looking for help, and then insults the forums?
