While I was waiting for the Smog People to do their thing, I was reading some of the magazines in the waiting room. I saw on on the table that caught my eye......."Brake and Front End". I kinda chuckled that there would be a magazine called that, but I picked it up and started to thumb through the articles. Much to my surprise it was very informative and very well written.
I asked if I could take a copy of the magazine home, and the guy behind the counter said sure, so I got it along with my smog certificate.
Brake and Front End has a web site that is very nicely put together, with lots of articles related to repairs, not just brakes and front end stuff.
I was interested in reading some back issues, but couldn't find any on the web site. The only thing I could find was waaay at the bottom of the Home Page there was a link to "Articles" and that might be all they had available.
Anyway check it out, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. I know I was. Here's the link.

BTW, the car passed with flying colors.

Not too shabby for a 2000 Camry LE with 215,000 miles on the clock. HC were a little high at idle, but everything else was towards the low end of the allowed ranges.
I was thinking about changing the O2 sensors before the Smog Check just in case, but after passing smog, I'll just keep thinking about changing them.
