3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
OFF TOPIC: One of the 17" wheels I have and use is bent as I had bought it this way from the previous owner and never repaired it since it held air and rode fine. Have hubcentric rings on. Unfortunately the Pirelli Supersport P7000 225/45/ZR17 looks like they are getting old with dry rotting and a bulge on one of the wheels. Long story short, I want to pick up a new set with fresh rubber. Whats the biggest wheel that can fit on the Camry?
20's would make me worry about rubbing. I'm no expert, but 18's tops IMO. Keep in mind that if you go that far off, your gauges aren't going to read correctly; I don't know if you care about that or not.
Valve cover looks great. Id probably stick with 17s or 18s on the Camry. I wouldnt even go 18s myself because of excess tire wear and the fact that there will likely be less tire to absorb the shock of pot holes in the road.

18's aren't bad with 225/45 rubber!

its actually a deep dark red but with the camera's flash and the light I turned on right beside it, it does look kind of orange. Its the darkest red color that Rustoleum makes.

Yeah that sounds like about the right combination. Just wondering how much your speedo is off by tho. Mine was off by 2mph with 17s. Ive also heard that anything over a 17" rim will have excess tire wear due to the size. Im not sure how much this will come into play with a Camry tho.. You had to get an alignment after having those rims installed too, right??
Nice job with the painting. Looks about the same colour that I did my valve cover. The black lines break everything up nicely. Should look great once it's installed

I'm sure I could fine out but I'm not that concerned about it.
