At what mileage are you guys changing your motor mounts?
Was wondering at what mileage are you guys changing out your motor mounts ie., Dog Bones, tranny mount, Strut mount? I have a 1993 V6 LE, so far so good with 121K miles. Anybody go 200K with original motor mounts?...

Me I just recently changed the dogbone mount, front hydraulic mount and the strut thingy that attached to the trans in the front. I'm going to be doing the last 2 mounts pretty soon as well. Pretty much, you can say 219,000 miles of clean service

I just changed my upper engine mount 2000 ks ago. The front and rear main engine mounts are shock type and they're still fine.

Open the hood
drive + brake + light to intermediate throttle
then do power brake in rewind.
If the engine jumps out of hole the mounts r busted!
FWIW mounts (rubber in general) that swim in oil die faster, prolly 4X faster if sprayed w/oil.
Details:
Just do a good old fashioned Power Brake with the Car in drive, Brakes ON, Apply light throttle and see what moves while looking at the engine between the dash the open hood!
I'd think Nothing beyond 3/8 throttle is needed. If they're broke, you'll see the engine raise up allot. Try it in reverse too.
Either way, don't let off the brakes and run anything over!

Reason: don't run anything over!
^ I can't over-emphasize how important it is to hold on to the brakes while you are doing this. Wouldn't want the car to end up somewhere down the block.

i had to replace all of them at ~67k miles on '00 solara 2.2L
partially it was caused by bad adjustement on throttle screw. engine was idling ~1k rpm in P&N and was jumping when gears shifting to anything drivable (rpm drop to 700ish)... now since that fixed i hope they last some time.

302k miles on my Camry; still has the original mounts. The dog bone looks a bit dodgy, tho. Got some pretty good cracks in it. Oughta be replaced sometime soon.

The dog bone mount (near passenger strut hosing) is known to go bad. While it won't cause you to get stranded, it does cause a bit more 'jerk' when shifting.
FYI, There was an DYI for those who wanted to upgraded their Gen3 dog bone mount with the more better (and bigger) Gen4 dog bone mount if you folks want to upgrade.
My mom's gen 3.5 is all original except the dogbone/torque strut, which I replaced a year or two ago @ $75 since it was shredded. The car idles and shifts extremely smoothly, though there is a bit of a clunk when shifting into reverse. Don't get me wrong though, I'm just nitpicking because her '95 Camry is worlds better and feels like a luxury car compared to my aunt's '94 Accord. It helps that the Camry is V6 and washed/waxed every other week too
