Need help with body work, some transmission stuff. Also, I have DEPOS!!!
k, I need some help from the experts, as far as camry body-work goes
got backed into a few years ago, pushed in the bottom part of the b-pillar (driverside) by about 1-2 mm. thing is, now my back door isn't flush anymore (it's mild, but it really pisses me off )
now, I thought, aw hell, I'll just put some thin spacers under the door bracket/mount on the bottom, and it should be at least a BIT better/less noticeable.
then I saw this
Where the HELL do I put my screwdriver/torque-wrench/specially-trained-bolt-removing-gnome?
Other problem; I figured that while I'm waiting to get a new shift cable, might as well pull out the old one and try to maybe jury-rig a temp repair, one problem...
the black clip holding the cable in (right above the grey-metal washer things)
how the f$%# do I pull that clip out?
on the upside...

If Im seeing that right, is that your shifter cable? lol Mine is broken RIGHT THERE. well the cable isnt broken but sleeve/sheath has come out from the bracket and now the cable wont push the transmission arm into park. If you figure out how to get that out / what that clip is called, report back cuz I need to fix mine.
From the looks of it, you have to get the pillar trim off to get access to the nuts inside but I've never done this before so could I could be wrong!!! Someone will chime in tho. . . You're plan should work.
This is difficult to explain, but sometimes you can pull those back out by closing the door on wooden shims around it. THe risk is crushing the door and/or crushing the pillar. I've done it on hoods and trunks to make them fit from wind damage ect, but never a door.
Edit as for the clip, it pulls straight up. You just need to get under that edge with a small sharp angled object like heel bar for pulling nails. You might need to stick something under it give yourself an edge to pry on (socket, wooden block). Vise grips on the outside and you might be able to rotate it free. Hmm - don't hesitate to hit straight down first to knock it loose.

Try bending the door. I did it on my old camry with frame damage because it kept leaking every time it rained. Two people helps, by the way. One person stands on one side of the door, and the other person pushes the top or bottom of the door in or out, whichever way it needs to go.
As for the clip, take a pair of channel-locks and hold them straight up and down, grab the little lip. Then push the channel locks downwards/toward you and it will use the cable as a pivot point and get leverage. If that doesn't make sense, I'll draw you a picture haha.

Yessir, that's one of the shifter cables. I believe mine is broken at that end (convinced my sister to move the gearshift while I felt the cable, could feel it brushing up to the end. Gonna replace it for peace of mind, but until that point, I figure I could JB-weld it or something.
Will let you know if I manage to get the clip out myself

K, I'll pull off the trim and take a look tomorrow, hopefully you're right; If those are rivets or something similar, gonna be a real PITA to flush out my door. Thanks for the suggestion

Eh, door's not leaking, but it seems like it's always half-closed. Adjusting the edges of the door is my last-resort, since it's a more permanent thing.
Gonna try clip tomorrow too, just have to find a suitable tool
