Aftermarket shifters

I'm sure many of you have debated on swapping shifters on the automatic. Just wondering who's done it and which knob they've bought. I'd prefer having able to not reroute the OD button and get a nice knob with one. Let me know guys, thanks!

plenty have done it, but i think all require remounting of the OD button becaue they are ALL universal. i got mine from local auto parts stores but i also cut down the stock shifter shaft to get the aftermarket one to look better.

Ahh sorry, thanks alot for the link!

BUT, any chances of using a gate-type shifter? Or is that out of the question?

maybe, you WILL have to custom mount it, find the bezle then custom that in, and then make sure the trow (cable movement) the same but might work?

and if they had the tip shifting you need to make a custom box that will hijack transmission control from the ecu and be able to interpolate the commands and you prolly have it set to run 1,2,3 unlocked tq converter, 3 locked, 4 unlocked, 4 locked

Sounds VERY custom and indeed beyond my capabilities. Hmmm, I suppose the non-gate shifters is the most likely DIYable one eh.

you could got a universal ratchet shifter which would easier but it's not gonna give you any benifits over your OEM one now. everyone who has changed the shifter ha done so just to make it look better.
