So I have a 94 xle v6 sedan I just got my axles replaced in front
and onmy way home from work it started making a weird sound like tack tack tack tack like a tick kinda and my steering wheels and car wobble a bit I notice that when I get on the gas the noise is not there but the second I let
off the gas the noise is right there please let me know what it could be or what it is thanks
also my axles were changed out on monday this noise just started today
That's a good question. I once had a 94 LE and had an axle replaced. After this replacement, I'd hear a constant ticking noise, which I don't believe subsided. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this. If not, I suggest taking it back to the mechanic who changed your axles.

Yeah I want to but they are not opened again till monday and this being my only car I wanted to see if it was something I could do about it ot still drive on it but thanks I will definately take it back to the mechanic
I'll hazard to guess the dust shield that slips onto the axle to protect the bearings from splash and debris is bent just enough to touch the steering knuckle. Does it have anti-lock brakes?
Either way, the torque applied from accelerating is creating contact because of the close fit.
Take it back to the mechanic and ask him if to take a look.
Edit: - - in one of the many axle replacement threads, there are pictures of it. Can't find it to easily tho. . .
Look up a picture of the axle and the little ring for the anti-lock brakes vs the dust shield. Some leave d/s off (bad) but often times you have to reuse them off the old axle (dust shield).

It always helps if you provide as much information as you can about the car, mileage, problem symptoms and any videos etc of the noise. You can post that on youtube and link it here.
Anyway it could be as simple as something stuck in the wheel or as complicated as some bad ungreased CV joint not being able to spin the wheel freely.

Thanks a lot guys and to peshwa I don't have a way to post noise and I did explain as much as I could explain as for milage my title said box c but the odo shows 128k and my cv halfshafs aka axles where just replaces with brand new ones do you think they could come ungreased form the place that made it let me know to 73sport yes I have anit-lock brakes how much am I looking to spend on dust shields and
is it safe to drive like that
^^ if it has anti-locks its hard to miss and leave them off. I suspect it'd make a brake light error CEL if the counter ring was missing. Don't worry, its one or the other so you don;t have to buy a dust shield.
Turn the wheels sharp. Turn the key off. set the brake, chock the wheeels and grab a flashlight and take a look for something that can the touch axles in motion.
It could be as easy as the brake rotor dust shield touching the rotor. This could get bent during an axle replacement. Is it a HEAVY SOUND a Tin Sound. Heavy sound, don't drive it. Tin sound, don't worry about. but have it looked at.

If its tin like dont worry as 73sport said. But you also mentioned it shakes/jerks the steering wheel, I would be worried!
Does this happen every single time you step on gas? I mean is there a consistent pattern that you can confirm? Generally if you step hard on gas it will spin your wheels and *may* "twist/turn" your wheel only slightly. (Torque steer?). I would suggest being as gentle on the gas to avoid above situation.
If you are mechanically inclined do put it up on jack stands and try to turn the wheels and see if you still get that noise.
If you dont want that hassle just dont drive and wait for the shop to open again!
All the best!

well Like I said steering wheel wobbles doesn't jerk just wobbles when I step on gas there is no noise when i let off gas the noise is there and thanks again for the help and suggestions
Best thing is to take it back to the shop and describe it to them so they can at least take a look. The noise your describing sounds like the splash/rotor shield touching but that wouldnt cause a steering wobble. I wonder if they torqued the axle nuts properly. Either way have them test drive it, or go on a test drive with one of them so you can point out the noise.
Yea I am definately taking it back tomorrow I made it to work and back home safely nut tomorrow I am taking it back to them and seeing what's going on thanks everyone for the help
