oil & plugs question..

ok...after i changed my oil with the whole water in the engine crap..lol..i'm gonna change it again in a few days..i've been a diehard penzoil guy..i use the high milegege...but i was thinking of using a synthetic blend..which i believe penzoil does not offer..i could be wrong....i was thinking of valvoline max life synthetic blend...good choice?? or should i try something else..my car has 153,000 miles on it....oh yeah i just installed ngk ix iridium plugs..was that also a good choice?? i hope so..& my engine is a 3.0....thanks in advance..

Personally, I don't see much point in the synth blends...they're generally going to have the same breakdown and shearing problems as pure dino. Either run full synth or a good high-detergent dino (such as Castrol GTX), and don't stretch the oil change intervals.

The NGK Iridium IX plugs have a good rep, and they're a lot of bang for the buck. Given that you've got one of those waste spark systems, you sure don't want to skimp on your plugs -- waste spark setups are hard on plugs. I'd say you made a good choice.

Depends on the car my 94 1mz has coil on plug. But I would go with the Iridium plugs.

Synth blends are a waste of money.

I wouldn't go full synth at your mileage, you might start leaking.
But I usually buy whatever's on sale at Advance. They only carry mobil 1, pennzoil and castrol synthetic anyway.

I keep hearing about that new pennzoil ultra, I want to give it a try. If its recommended by ferrari it has to be decent.
