Arrow Car died today... & other weird feel/noise...

Well I was driving the car around for about 30 - 45 minutes today, then I put the car in park and probably 20 seconds or so after I did that the car just shut off... I think the RPM's were too low or something (total guess) and it just stopped running... Then 10 seconds after it shut off, the radiator fans came on like as if the car was still on... any thoughts??

Also, When I accelerate just a tiny bit the car does like a knocking/grabbing (its hard to explain) type of noise, not coming from the engine though. It more happens when the front end lifts up upon acceleration, you can hear it slightly on the outside of the car and you can feel it a lot in the gas pedal when you step on it... I'm not sure if it has to do with the suspension or something related to it... Any thoughts on this as well?

My first thought is transmission problems? Does the engine idle and rev up normally when in park or neutral? Have you checked the transmission and differential fluids?

Seems to rev fine, is there any way to check for a bad transmission or for one that is on its way out?

I had my mechanic drive it around for 2 days when i got the car, he said that everything looked good, then this just recently happened...

Should I do a tranny fluid flush?

Ive never checked the differential fluids before.. I'm not even sure how you check that.
