4th Generation SRI installation problems

i got an intake kit with an aluminum intake tube...it has 2 fittings and a MAF sensor socket.

1 fitting i attached to the PCV valve, the other i attached to another pipe that splits off from a bunch of wires tied together with the MAF sensor.

problem is, there's a third, much thinner pipe coming from underneath the valve cover on the engine block. i left it hanging not having attached it to the intake, took the car for a test drive.

drove fine except for 1 problem (which i cannot be certain is cause&effect) but my car is leaking coolant, and i'm not certain yet, motor oil.

questions i pose to TN is, what do i do with that thin pipe from the engine block? should i plug that into the intake tube instead and get a breather filter for the PCV? any possibility the intake will mess with motor oil/coolant leaks?

mine looked exactly liek yours (when i had a gen4). that tube was not connected to anything, just shortened and blocked. i later replaced it with a breather and it looked better and didnt hang down in the engine bay.

as far as the red stuff, that would be coolant, check the hoses for cracks, and the bottom of teh radiator to see where it is commin from.

it was running fine, it just leaked fluid everywhere...and i'm not certain, but i think motor was in the mix.

i don't think the thin line i pointed out is something that can be replaced with a breather filter.

Your SRI is gonna kill your mileage.

And hurt performance.

Just sayin'.

Edit: Trim those black hoses you have connected to the intake, it makes a difference

i'm really not thrilled with the idea of having an SRI anyway. i have considered an apparent argument that the SRI can compensate for its warm air because it simply sucks in more air than a CAI. so i guess the debate goes, more warm air? or less cold air?

Cold air will be much better unless you're running FI and need more air faster.
