3rd Generation Aiming my headlights

Hey folks. Just a quick question. I can't see anything with my 1993 Camry at night! I'm thinking the alignment is off.

From 10 feet away, about how many feet should the top part of the headlight glow against a wall be? A few moments ago, I compared my fathers Chevy Van against mine at the same distance, and his is about 3-4 feet up the wall as opposed to my car, which is hitting the ground in front of the wall. I just want a guesstimate, doesn't need to be perfect. Everyone around here drives with their brights on all the time so getting back at them doesn't bother me, but I try to be the better man. :P

If someone could park their car 10 feet away from a wall and tell me how high their headlights are adjusted, I would be a very happy (and safer) man.

Back to watching some M*A*S*H!

here you go, should work for gen3 as well:
http://www.camrystuff.com/manuals/Ge...ght_System.pdf

last 2 pages of that PDF are about proper adjustment (3m/10ft from a wall).

That's a tad technical for me, and I don't have thick white paper. I suppose I can wing it against my garage door.

It doesn't have to be that perfect if you're using the stock headlights. Just make sure that they are aiming down or straight ahead but make sure they're not aimed up. Reason being is that when you get farther away, if you're aimed up it'll look to the people in front of you as if you're using high beam and it will irritate them. Make sure it's aim at least lower than horizontal and you'll be good.

If you're ten feet away from a garage door and your beam doesn't hit the wall you've got big trouble and need to aim your headlights way up.

use whitish wall, no need for any papers. use masking tape for marking centers of headlights/bulbs on wall when car is parked with front VERY close to wall, then back up 10 ft and check where the beams are on the wall - level ground is important or it will offset the adjustment.

adjust low beam about an inch below the markings on wall, and double check high beams (they should hit marks directly). all set. no need to be super precise

as above, make sure you are not aimed too high as you will piss off people and they start flashing at you.

It would be hard for them to flash me when they have their high beams on in the first place, but I catch your drift. Thanks folks!
