3rd Generation My conclusions on Synthetic vs. Dino oil.

When I aquired my Camry V6 LE with 105K miles on her approx. one year ago I immediately changed the oil to Mobil-1 10w-30 Full Synthetic EP. Now I am at 122K miles & at my last oil change I got lazy because I had a free oil change coupon owed to me by a local FireStone store cause of previous work I had them do on my vehicle being tires & rear struts. Well yesterday after a 3K mile run on their dino I changed the oil back to my Mobil-1 10w30 EP! I noticed immediately that my engine RPM's just reved more freely with the Syn, & the 3VZFE V6 just seemed much happier as it makes a sweet singing high pitched noise while driving. It's hard to hear unless you have this motor, & are used to hearing it. Long story short, it seems to just be running & makin power much more freely & better......No more dino for me & my Camry!...

I think he meant that because he switched to synthetic immediately after buying the vehicle, he was used to how it ran on synthetic. Then he used dino for 3,000 miles... and after switching back to synthetic he immediately noticed the difference it made.

I think I will use synthetic next oil change and see if I notice any improvement on my 5SFE.

I've been using synthetic since my second engine swap, and have had no problems! It's only got 1900 miles though...

I think I've changed the oil 8 times in 1900 miles.

I have developed a small leak though. No idea where. It forms drops on the oil pan drain plug, and no it's NOT a loose plug.

That's why there is synthetic-blend. I'd give Motorcraft Syn-Blend 5W-30 or 10W-30 a try at Walmart prices.

BTW, O'Reilly store brand fully-syn is on sale now with a Mobil-1 filter too.
