Australia Phantom problem on 94 camry!

Right i've had a look around to see if i could find the same probem but my eyes are gone fuzzy now.

I need some help with this issue now please. The problem is overheating. Now i've changed the rad, rad cap, water pump, timing belt, temp gauge sender, thermo switch sender, thermostat x2, all hoses.

so right the car will sit pretty at bang on half way on the temp gauge for hours. the fans dont need to kick in here coz the thermostat seems to be open when it idels like this. BUT, when i drive off the cool air cools down the water in the rad which closes the thermostat again causing the engine to get hot.

the head is NOT gone. now i cant for the life of me figure out what the hell is going here at all. i mean everything has been replaced and nothing seems to work for me. the fans do work but dont come on when the car gets to temperature.

please help i've put $1,500 au dollors into this car already in the last 3 weeks since i bought it. all the engine mounts even had to be done along with all the drop links, wish bones, inner and outter tie rods and bushings. i really dont mind putting this time and money into the car coz i intend to keep it for as long as i can plus i'll know the car is spot on reliable for me too. i've only just moved to oz so i was eager to get on the road quite but this car has put a dampper on my excitment.

can anyone help?? thanks in advance gareth ;-)

i should also mention its a 2.2 manual.

What's your definition of "hot"?

antifreeze reduces the thermal capacity of water so if it warm were you are use less, does your fans kick in with the a/c on? best way to check the relays.

I used to have that problem. The fans didn't work. I wired them to a switch in the dash and turned them on when needed.
