Quick help needed: DRL

Hooking up a DRL to the headlights. Where can I get power in the engine bay that only gets power when the car is turned on? I was thinking one of the relays and fuses but none of them stuck out to me.

There aren't any lights that I can splice into that automatically turn on with ignition.

Where is that wire located in the engine bay? Don't wanna have to run A wire across the firewall.

I doubt you'll find it.

Try just stuffing the power wire under a relay.

There are plenty of fuses and relays in the engine compartment I was hoping to just splice into one of those. If anyone knows of a fuse there that only gets power when the car is on them
by all means let me know

If you want them on at the same time as the headlights you can just wire them to the headlights and leave them on. They're automatic so its basically daytime running lights with an option to turn off if necessary. They turn off when you turn the car off anyways. Or you can use a test light or a voltmeter and check the relay sockets for the hot leg.

Headlights don't automatically come on with the car.. and I'd rather have the LEDs on without my projectors during the day, HID's are 140w of power I could be saving

Weird, I thought the auto lights were a standard feature. Guess not. I would just use a test light and check the relays then.

Checked every fuse in the engine compartment..none of them get power only when car is running.. bummer, guess I'll have to run the LEDs to a remote.

ABS? Use the ABS fuse maybe?

Maybe the main fuse would work too?

Sending one wire through the firewall isn't too hard. Just get a long one, send it through where the wiring harness goes in, go behind the center console and tap into the ignition wires is what I would do.

OR even easier than going into the ignition, use the radio wires. Or maybe the antenna power wire. Remote wire, whatever it's called.
