3rd Generation Where is the oil level warning switch on 3VZ-FE engine?

Where is the oil level warning switch on the 3VZ-FE engine (1992)?

Apparently, a mechanic left the harness disconnected from the sensor about two years ago - and today I discovered the unattached harness and plug.

The following diagram approximately locates the oil level warning switch connector (marked as item E6) near to the A/C compressor - but we have not yet found it in real life! We have looked and studied under the hood and under the engine, and also I am about worn out after several hours fruitless looking on the web for a photo or diagram.

I should prolly keep my mouth shut cause I've don't know the actual answer, but I don't think it has one on the engine. There is an oil pressure switch for the idiot light.

I believe that's pointing to the AC compressor and shuts it off if low on oil. The Compressor will also be shut down if the charge is too low. Take a look at the AC compressor. Does it have a four wire plug?

The oil warning switch is on the engine block, just below the A/C compressor (Not on it). It has a single wire connector on it. Just push the connector on to it.

The loose harness-section and connector I have is 2-wire, not 1-wire:

I believe this is the circuit

Would you post a photo, please? I won't be able to get my car up on ramps before Friday - but when I do would appreciate knowing what the socket location looks like, especially having hunted all around that area on the engine ( as well as on the internet) a few days ago without finding the sensor/socket.

That picture with the wire routing that you have there is from the service manual for the ES 300 (Lexus). Though it has the 3VZ-fe, I believe that this feature is not included with the Camry. When I had rebuilt my engine (also 3vz-fe) I had looked all over for the sensor, I could not find it. Another member has a post where he had the same question about his Camry with this engine. This leads me to believe that the Camry did not come with this sensor installed in the engine. (It might be too luxurious for Camry owners haha)

Also I have run into one other instance where the only other connector that is just hanging there is the Progressive Power Steering Solenoid connector. (Balloon P2 on the next page:29) I also assumed that it should go somewhere when I rebuilt my engine but the connector was nowhere to be found on the power steering rack. Upon completion, the power steering behaved normally like it did before. There were also no check engine lights or check oil lights or whatever after I had rebuilt it. I've been driving it for almost a year since and there is no problem.

My opinion is that this is normally the situation on Camry's. Despite how old the last post was, I hope this helps should you or anyone in the future return to read it.

Dan.

That connector is not used on the Camrys, I've had four v-6 3VZ-FE Camrys and it wasn't used on either one, its just left dangling below the alternator.
