!HELP! 98 camry still bucking!

this camry is killing me it will start bucking at 3k and with it floored wont go past 3 grand till u let all the way off the throttle. if u punch it off the line it does the same thing. if u get it up to 60 at 1/2 throttle and punch it it will do the same bucking condition. i've changed the map sensor timingbelt, cam sensor, throttle body, taken the exahust off to make sure it wasnt a clogged cat. please i need help and my other running camry is getting stripped by all my parts swapping ..........any info would be great

Plugs and wires okay? Sometimes real old gas will make this happen too.

Hook up a diagnostics computer like AutoTap to the ODBII port and see what's going on.

Is the check engine light on?

Did it do it prior to the new plugs/wires? Did it do it immediately afterwards?

When you hooked up the diagnostics computer...did you check the range of the TPS?

i had a similar problem on my jeep where the engine would not rev past 3k rpms and it turned out to be the crank sensor.

what i would do is disconnect the air intake from the throttle body. rev the motor by the throttle body itself. rev the engine to where it stumbles and spray in some starter fluid to see if that eases the stumbling. this will help rule out both a fuel and air issue if it doesnt improve.

Not sure how the fuel pump operates but maybe there is an issue with its pressure output at higher rpms creating a starvation type of condition.

My first thought was bad coils. But you say they came from a known working car that did not exhibit this condition. True?

My point, new parts can be bad. Especially Ignition Coils!

OK - If true, then next guess is Fuel starvation. Perhaps somewhere there is a restriction, injectors, pump, fuel stainer, kinked hose, collapsed hose.

When was the last time it ran correctly? Was it before???? Work at the shop, being borrowed by the neighbor, ran out of gas. . . ect???

With the Scanning software - post up everthing you have on load, fuel trims and O2 sensor readings. If it goes lean above 3K the ECM will show it in the Fuel trims and mV readings on from the scanning software.

This is your next step. If the parts car is running, do the same scan on it. Compare the two!

Plugged air filter, plugged exhaust, bad cat, low fuel pressure all come to mind.
