Where is the ECU unit on a 1999 Toyota Camry LE?

Hello all,

I have been trying to find the ECU unit on my 1999 Toyota Camry LE for months and cannot locate it. I have the RS3000 system and the ECU unit was suppose to be on the left driver side behind the mirror control but there was nothing there. I, also, have checked under both the driver and passenger seats and under the center console but have found nothing. Does anyone hear have experience with this and can you please tell me where the ECU unit might be??? I have to program my remote control and this is driving me crazy!!

Ok, I've been here. What a PITA if you don't know where to look! The main Car ECU is behind the glove box, Don't go there! The RS3000 alarm ECU is behind the the Side Mirror Adjust/Dimmer Knob/Security Light panel to the left of the steering wheel. To access it you just pop out the whole panel. Tucked up and wire wrapped at the very top of the opening is the RS3000 box. Mine was black plastic. It's to the right of the AC/Heater dash vent. You must cut a large black wire wrap that holds it up tight and out of the way. This will allow the RS3000 to drop down enough to reveal the magical "Green" button. To program a new key FOB# (BAB237131-022 is what I use), turn on ignition, hold the green button in for 3 seconds. the security light on the panel will light for 5 seconds, press the button on your fob that you want to use, the panel light will go out, Your done! This will work for up to 4 remotes/fobs. The "glass breakage" ECU is under the driver's side kick plate tie wrapped to the harness if you need to go there. Good luck.
