catback piping for gen3

my dad is worried about the pipe that i would get for a custom catback will wear out and have to be replaced in one year due to rust....is this true..?...shoul i just keep my stock pipe and just get a muffler or what...???

No you will not have to replace the piping in a year. Just make sure to get good aluminized steel with good thickness (16 gauge?). Or if you really wanna look nice and have longer durability just get stainless steel. Either way you won't be replacing those pipes in a year.

I agree just go to a muffler shop, they will get you any kind of piping you want. Trust me man, those pipes last at least 10 or more years and no they do not rust. However the stocks ones do!

dont expect to gain like 10 hp outta a custom catback + muffler
i was reading up on a magazine and saw they have done a catback system, muffler, and intake for a ford focus (the hatchback one) and when they dyno'ed the car, it only gained like 7 hp...
and i saw another one for a mazda miata, they did a cat-back system, intake, muffler, and headers too, and in the end when they dyno'ed the car, it gained like 15hp , and the header was the main thing that made the miata gain the most HP
miata = weight-to-power ratio or is it the other way around?

if you wanna truly gain some serious HP, this is why i wanna get a Rippmods S/C ...those guys at ripp, they made this kit for the 5sfe and i'm proud of what they do, i hope to get one into my hands soon..

as for my camry, i think i only gained 3-4 extra horsepower!!!
maybe even worse!!! correct me if i'm wrong, i'm just guessing because i didnt dyno my car yet...
anyone out there dyno'ed there gen3 5sfe camry? if so what are your numbers?
