Question 1999 Toyota Solara AC/Vent Blowing Issue

I have a 1999 Toyota Solara SLE V6. It is the greatest car I have ever had. However, The AC has gone downhill quite a bit recently. It blows at about 40% of what it used to blow at. I took it to the mechanic, no freon issues and no issues with the blower motor. They suggested vent blockage but qutoed $900 to rip it apart and fix... Apparently, the 1999 Solara has no cabin filter, but it would be great if someone could tell me where the intake is or any tips on how to get in there and check out the pipes...

Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm about to rip out my glove box to try and get to the vent intake...

Drop the blower and the AC evaporator should be right after that. You can take a point and shoot digital camera to check out the condition of the evaporator...it's probably clogged up.

Here's what my evaporator looked like in my T-100 truck...

Thanks for the reply. I think it would be a little hard to drop the blower and AC evaporator.. I don't want to break anything or make it worse... Are these just bolt on? You think its pretty easy?

Someone suggested that I should use a shop vac that blows and connect it to the vent in the cabin along with taping it up so its a vacuum. What do you guys think about that?
