1994 Camry Auto to Manual

Hey Guys!

Let me explain, my father owns a mechanic shop and i recieved a 94 camry 4 cyl auto with 150k miles. The tranny is shot but i got the car for free. Im currently 17 and am interested in racing. This may not be the best track car but i have alot of resources and im more of a handling guy rather than pure HP.

I work at his shop and know how to spin a wrench.

Anyways what will i need to convert the camry to a manual besides

transmission
wiring harness?
clutch assembly and brake pedal ( i dont like the big fat pedals on auto cars)

Anything else i need to know?

I plan on eventually
stripping the interior
putting in a homebuilt cage
rims and semi slicks (i have them)
Paint job
New springs maybe?
Welding the rear doors shut(its a 4 door)
New seat racing wheel 5 point harness.

I would be autocrossing the car for fun once in a while.

Just for the side note i am a go kart racer, i have raced cars and karts and am kinda experienced behind the wheel not to toot my own horn

Heres my kart, this is when it was new, now it has tire scuffs all over it and i took off the beware of the dog sign off

search but you got the jist of what you need you also need the internal shifter assembly

the camry is a pig of a car so if your gonna do all that there is plenty to tear out of the car for weight reduction

for handling? your gonna have import some better bushings maybe the whiteline rsb

Hmmm after talking with a mechanic he says it would be easier to swap the engine from the camry i have into a 5spd camry. Finding those little nick nacks like the clutch pedal assembly are a pain. if i call all the junk yards ill come up with something but what other toyota cars use the 2.2 camry engine? Or what other cars would accept it that are manual?

Thanks for the post was very helpful

I know someone that can probably get u all the parts for really good price...cheaper than buying a stick Camry and they're not that easy to find.
