thanks a lot guys,

I believe in Asia that Exedy is the most famous replacement clutch. Exedy is the previous Daikin set of transmission components. You can ask your local shop about it.

thanks guys.
i went ahead and got the exedy stage 1 organic.
i also got a fidanza light flywheel =]
when yuu guys replace the "clutch", do yuu guys buy the whole kit (pressure plate, clutch plate, throwout bearing) or do yuu guys just replace yuur clutch plate and bearing and keep the old pressure plate? cause i saw that yuu could pick up an ACT clutch plate but exedy only offers the full kit.
oh deng nice. wherd yuu find those two for 400usd total lol
i payed 300 for each -.-;;;;
oh and what is the rear main seal ?
The rear main seal is the one that is located between the engine and the flywheel.

i got the exedy one in a package with fidanza flywheel ..for around $400 shipped...decent deal
a proper clutch change always should be:
new clutch disc,
new pressure plate,
new throwout bearing,
and a resurface job on the flywheel.
change rear main seal.
that's the full proper job.
Devils Advocate:
But why mess with the rear main seal???? Does that mean I should pull my auto tranz and replace the seal cause it has 230,000 miles?? Its like replacing a random wheel bearing or alternator bearing. I'd guess that 60% of DIY botch it and end up with leak sooner than if they left it alone. Prolly 20% of the shops botch it.
If the crank has lateral or excessive end-play you have or will soon have other problems!
Just my 2 cents, but if it aint broke, don't fix it! If your intent is to replace for the sake of replacing, go for the input shaft seal!
Please share any logic on why this should be done. Tks!

but thanks. i will definately save that ebay store and save myself 150usd in 5 years by buying them from that ebay store instead of buying them separately =D
oh btw, its not necessary to buy a new flywheel everytime yuu change the clutch right ? cause i thought the flywheel lasts for a long time. yuu just have to resurface it when getting a new clutch ?
EDIT: ah nvm the kit comes with the stock replacement exedy clutch. i got the stage one. i MIGHT have overstepped it a little and gotton more clutch than i needed. but then again im plannin on findin a supercharger next year -shrugs-

True - Flywheel should be fine for several clutches. Most will survive 3 to 4 resurfacing cuts before replacement is required. Although pure metalic and some ceramic discs can be very hard and and destroy the surface when hot spots/surface hardening occurs from slippage. That's not to say performance clutches are flywheel killers. Its saying performance clutches in performance applications are demanding. Either application can wreck a flywheel when slippage occurs creating hardspots which chatter during engagement.

well..auto tranny never doesn't need a clutch change compared to a 5speed
so if u are already poping off the flywheel to change it...why not change the rear main seal?
all seals harden over time and lose its sealing ability...so if it's already there...why not spend the 5 bucks and change it..cuz once it leaks...it'll take a lot of money on labour to get to it. that's just my opinion.
of course...axle seals are a must...i shouldave mentioned that first...those are uber important
