3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
most of the oldtimers here know that I've been wanting to turbo my car for a long time (and, being a college student, it's a bitch to try scrape toghether the $$$ - )
I was going over the whole idea earlier at work today (boring as fuck, btw), and was wondering a few things
1st, would it be advisable to have my AFM before or after the turbo?
2nd, I don't want to blow big bucks on a new turbo, so I was thinking of trying to pick up a pair of Stealth/3G or 300zx turbos (those are both 3.0L motors, and the stealth block has a very similar design, iirc).
if anyone wants to contribute, it'd be awesome!
(btw, I'm hoping to start putting together parts this fall, and maybe have the ensemble finally ready sometime in the winter, if all goes well)

Need performance parts?
Shoot me a PM, I'll see what I can do
try having your car previously owned by a man who believed that a dirty engine bay was a good one, see how long you keep up the scrubbing
well, I was kinda thinking of having twins...
but I guess a single shouldn't be too bad (+ I'd have an excuse to wear "I'm Single" t-shirts - lol)
and I was wondering if the AFM could hold the pressurized air, or would it leak? (also, I presume that I disconnect the PCV hose from the intake pipe at that point (not sure about iac)

ohh yea the AFM can hold pressure...if u ever take it off and clean it u can see all it is is a pipe with a flap inside. it's build pretty solid...it'll hold pressure for sure.
yea i posted about it...but it's not a CAI..only a SRI.
the entire intake costed me next to nothing...
only Weapon-R makes a full kit and it runs about $160+shipping
once u have the adapter, u can easily make it CAI..
Winter projects suck, though it appears my better work is done in snow...
Eh, I doubt I'll start it until spring; I didn't finish my exhaust until march break (started it in january) because it was a bitch to work on my back on cold concrete
then again, I might get lucky and do the build in my friends garage (3-car garage, usually only has his Evo in there, and it's got SOO much room). I got a 2-car, but it's full of random stuff: windsurfing gear, a scaffolding, shelves, snowblower, lawnmower, bikes... you get the idea . Might try to clean it out this summer though
