Headlights - Relay maybe

Hi, I need to know what controls the headlights on my 2000 camry CE

If you should leave the lights on, it will RANDOMLY kill the battery now.

It used to and still SOMETIMES does, when you turn off the key and open the door, the lights will turn off.

This problem started happening VERY occasionally like 2 years ago, but it is now happening more often, to the point of it being about a 50/50 chance that the lights automatically turn off when you turn off the key and open the door.

I have replaced the door switch, and have determined that is not the problem.
