Blinking Check Engine and MAF sensor

I have a 2001 V6 camry with 200K that when you get above 40 MPH the check engine lights starts blinking and the car hesitates from a misfire. I went under the hood and looked around to find several vacum hoses undone from some recent work I had a garage do but reconnecting them made no difference. I then disconnected the Mass airflow sensor and the car died. I reconnected and I restarted and the car ran great for the next 300 miles. Can i assume the sensor is bad or did i just reset something? Thanks to those who reply!

A flashing check engine light indicates a misfire thats going to damage the catalytic converter if not taken care of. The best thing to do would be to get a scanner on it and see which cylinder is misfiring. If its just one cylinder misfiring then the MAF sensor is not your problem. A bad MAF sensor will give you lean codes but not really cause a misfire. Cant say why the misfire went away, but im sure it will come back eventually.
