3rd Generation Bearing noise?

I recently changed my ALT/AC. belt and I've been hearing a loud pitch squealing all of a sudden. The squealing gets louder as I rev past 2k RPM but dies down when I hit 1k RPM. I'm not sure whether its the belt or its a bearing inside the alternator. Any suggestions? I might post up a video later tonight

Did you adjust to the proper tension per spec? If oil was spilled on the belts, pullies, that could cause noise.

Take wooden stick and place to your ear. Let it idle, listen, then rev and listen. Try to keep your ear out of the pulley and listen to all the different components. You might need a helper. But bad bearings will scream in your ear if bad...

Bump still making noise... Does not removing the neg. cable of the battery during the change of the belt harm the alternator?

You can turn on the ac to make the clutch engage to check the ac clutch bearings and you can disconect the connector that plugs in the altenator and hear the noise change. the noise seems to be the alternator to me but not sure. good luck man

Whenever i put the AC on or put a load on the alternator the noise dies down and virtually goes away. I seriously think its the belt though..
