Question Y pipe for 1995 Camry

I got a new Y pipe for my 1995 Camry Le in December 2008. Now the check engine code is saying there is a problem with the catalytic converter. Isn't that part of the Y pipe and shouldn't it last longer? Does anyone know what the warranty is on something like that?

Separate items but directly connected to each other. Y pipe likely had a leak or tear at the flex coupler which required replacement.

FWIW: I've got over 223,xxx on my 95 and it still has all the original exhaust components. My concern for you is that something caused the CAT to fail and if not addressed the replacement will fail also. You might post up all maintenance history and get a positive read on the CEL code to make sure there are no other issues leading up to this failure.
