Not in this Camry before, but on a few Fords. The clutch won't engage, but when power is applied to the clutch directly it does. Usually it's the high side pressure switch. There's a possiblity that the swtich in the dash is bad, but I doubt that.

I replaced the high pressure switch in my 92. It went bad and so the cooling fans ran continuously. When you change it out the entire ac system is discharged, so heads up.

The button wasn't flashing, but regardless of the ac being on or not the cooling fans were constantly running so the car wouldn't get up to operating temperature. As a temp. fix I bypassed the switch by crimping two wires from the switch together. However I would not do this if you plan on using your ac. I only did it because I don't use my ac anyways. Why are you replacing your switch?

It could be one of two things. Either this switch, or there is also a fan switch on the bottom of the radiator near the passenger side that has a wire that runs up and connects near the back of the drivers headlight.

I believe you can test your fan switch if you disconnect the cable running to the fan switch in the radiator and jumper that 2 wire connector. If you jumper that connection and the fans stop running, then your fan switch is most likely stuck open. If you jumper it and the fans keep going, it could be the high pressure switch.

this is one of the problem, actually my ac button is flashing when the car is cold, when the car became hot (needle in the middle) the ac works perfectly
i changed: compressor,MG/CL,receiver dryer,expansion valve,thermistor,belts are new
but the problem is still there,so i am thinking about dual pressure switch
