No power to a Fuel Injector

Well my Boss's 93 Lexus ES300 has the almost same 1MZ v6 engine as my 96 Camry so I'm trying to help him out. The No 4 injector stopped working so on my recommendation he bought a rebuilt one and it would not work either so after swapping injectors around it appears that the No 4 injector is not getting any power or pulse.

He said that it has been acting up intermittently for some time, works for a while then doesn't so has anyone come accross this? Any relays that could have stopped working or connections come loose?

Appreciate any help at all!

Thanks in advance
Warren

I will make the assumption that its a 3VZ as the MZ didn't come into to play until 94. Then again this is a Lexus for which I've done ZERO research. So is it 3VZ or a 1MZ?

The 1MZ if the syetem does not get report from the Igniter that the plug fired (COP system), after 200 revelotions it kills that cylinders injector to prevent cylinder wash down and preserve the CAT.

I suspect its 3VZ and something else is wrong. Does it have a distributor or 6 ignition coils?

Was it ever wrecked, had the engine pulled, or anything like that as I'd suspect a broken wire or something of that nature. Is the CEL on?

Need more details.

It looks just like the 1MZ except it has one coil and a distributor. Never wrecked, original engine. No error lights, doesn't have an OBDII plug that I'm aware of. Just talked to one of the mechanical engineers at work and he suggested using an LED to check for a pulse at the injector plug. He also mentioned something about a bad resistor back to the computer?

93= 3VZ. The ES300 engines match up EXACTLY with the Camry.

92-93= 3VZ
94-01= 1MZ
