Like your opinion on Subs and Amp combo, pics!

There is a guy selling this combo of 2 12W0 JL's in a JL box with an amp (not sure what the amp is waiting for a little more info from the guy)

He's selling for 350 OBO. I'm a huge fan of JL and so I'm quite tempted to jump off the deep end and purchase these, and the price seems awesome.

2 questions:
1. Does anyone here know what that amp is?
2. Any reason that upward facing ports might be bad?

Thanks for your time everyone!

ok...

1st- please dont waste ur money on w0's. that is there BOTTOM of the line woofer. now if u want good JL... go W6v2 or W7.
2nd- that amp look like a cheap off brand from here... they dont last.

and plus the w0's are only 120$ each new.
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_13612W0...0&ssi=0&tp=111

so its not that good of a deal IMO.

if u want a good system for a good price...my buddy is sellin his Alpine Type E's (2 10"subs) in a PROBASS (best box there is) with a PDX 500watt amp.
subs $70 each x2 (140$)
amp $500
probass box i believe was $200( not 100% on that)

so the whole setup cost him about $850 before tax. and i have heard them...they beat. hes sellin for $500. whole setup.

but even if ur not interested... dont go with W0's(not worth the $$)
if u want good cheap subs and u dont want my buddys setup... get memphis PR's. they r the best entry level sub i have ever heard. IMO.

Best box out there are Obcon

350 waaay to much. i bought a 10w3v2 a long while back and was suitable for my music..
the subs you want depends on the type music u listen to.. budget.. and the type of quality you want out the amp/subs (output)

swagger_wagon468 your buddy selling the package kinda high IMO

Thanks for all your opinions guys! I think I was blinded by the box, cuz it does look pretty sweet. The subs to get good ratings, but they are definitely their entry level stuff... I think I'll be waiting to finish my current install to see if it's enough for me before I go carazy on the sub end of things! Thanks again!

Buy a TC Sounds sub, you'll never look at any other brands. I know...no one has heard of it....but trust me....I've gone from Velodyne (home), JL, etc. Look up some youtube videos. Cleanest damn subs I've ever owned. Back in the day, they can be had for under $100. They manufacture a lot of OEM subs for brands like Fujitsu Ten, old Soundstream, etc. Check partsexpress.....they have them too.

Just make sure you've got a good amp. You can make just about any garbage subwoofer sound better with a decent amp. I just installed 2 12" audiobahn's and an infinity amp in mine. Audiobahn is def not the best brand by a long shot but these subs sound great with my 611A amp. Rockford Fosgate is my personal favorite brand though.
