Canada Muffler quick fix??

Okay, I know for a reliable fix i need a new muffler - but can anyone suggest a temporary fix to keep it quiet? There is a crack on a direct fit muffler, 1994 camry, close to the flange, more or less 1/2 away from where the flange connects to the centre pipe. I tried some muffler glue, but it lasted maybe only 5 minutes. Is there maybe a material i could wrap around it just to keep it quiet? Some post i saw somewhere said steel wool. Could that be used and would it work? Supposing I fastened it on somehow? Any ideas whatsoever? I need my car for tomorrow and dont have time to fix it today. I hate driving around with that loud noise.

Thanks,
