3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I have a 1993 Camry XLE V6, 212,xxx miles A/T....i have an abs light and was wondering what the usual suspect area is, when i brake i do get a pulsation with a little vibration. i have read about the speed sensors usually going out on these and was wondering if anyone knows about how much it cost to get the sensor fixed or if it is an easy fix to do at home?
to check the codes, located the diagnostic plug under the hood(which is near the firewall, passenger side) and remove the grey jumper pin in the bottom right corner. then using a paper clip or similar, jump pins TC and E1. then turn the ignition to 'on'. the abs light on the dash should now be flashing the codes it has stored.
do what was post above although im not sure is abs codes are given through that method.
easiest way is to test each sensor with a multi-tester while the wheel is in the air and rotate the wheel left / right to get a reading.. simple enough, no reading = bad sensor.
i too have abs light on.. and am in need of 2 possibly 3 sensors. but i've priced each sensor at +/-90 each.
easy to change yourself with a nice afternoon and 10mm socket
It could be related. Did you pull the a code from the ABS light yet? That would help.

now all of a sudden my BRAKE light has come on as well, any ideas?
This is unrelated. When my Camry had the ABS light turned on because of a bad left front sensor, the BRAKE light was not lit. Check the brake fluid level. There's a sensor in the reservoir that'll turn the dash light on if the fluid level is low.
